Patna: The President of Pakistan Muslim League Chaudhury Shujat Singh has complimented Rashtriya
Janata Dal (RJD) supremo Laloo Prasad Yadav for "playing a key role in breaking the ice" between the
two neighbours during his recent visit to Pakistan as member of an Indian Parliamentary delegation, and
called for more such exchanges on party-to-party basis.
"Leaders like you can play a key role in breaking the ice and opening new vistas of understanding
between India and Pakistan," the leader of Pakistan's ruling Parliamentary party said in a letter to the
RJD chief, who visited that country on a goodwill mission along with other MPs.
"As president of PML, I want to convey to you how much pleasure your presence generated in Pakistan.
Your warmth, candour and informality was particularly disarming...it shows once again the impact of
basic human values," he said in the letter, released on September 5 by RJD national spokesman and
Bihar Minister Shivanand Tiwari.
Hussain, who advocated "more such exchanges particularly on party-to-party basis", wished all the best
for Yadav, his wife, his party and the people of Bihar.
Yadav was part of an Indian Parliamentary delegation that visited Pakistan early last month on a goodwill
mission.
