Eight killed, 35 injured in Srinagar blast

Srinagar: At least eight persons were killed and 35 critically injured when a bomb planted by militants in a car exploded in a crowded fruit market at Parimpore on the outskirts of Srinagar city in Jammu and Kashmir on September 6.

Two persons died on-the-spot while another, identified as Mohammad Ramzan, died on way to hospital in the blast which took place around 9.45 am (IST) at the main entrance of the market, official sources said.

An Army vehicle was reportedly blown up in the blast and a senior officer was among the injured.

The condition of all injured was described as critical, the sources said.

No militant outfit has claimed responsibility for the blast.
