VHP disfavours giving another chance to Vajpayee
Saturday, September 6 2003 16:11 Hrs (IST)
Jammu: Launching a scathing attack on Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Vishwa Hindu Parishad
(VHP) on September 6 disfavoured giving another chance to him, while accusing him of "weakening" the
country and not having "any sentiments" for Hindus.
"We will not went Atalji to lead the country for another term," VHP international working president Ashok
Singhal told reporters, alleging that under his rule the country had been "weakened" although India's
image had grown after nuclear tests by his government in 1998.
Singhal also warned of a "dangerous reaction" across the country if Ram temple was not allowed to be
built at the lord's birthplace in Ayodhya.
He said VHP had formulated a 10-point agenda paper and any political party accepting it would receive
support from the outfit during the coming polls.
Singhal also asked Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to "give up secular path", failing which VHP would
dissociate with it and support those who work for Hindus.
