Guwahati: At least five people were seriously injured in a powerful bomb blast in busy Athgaon area in the heart of the city on September 7.

"At least five people were injured in the blast which took place in front of a building in the heart of the commercial complex during the heavy rush hours in the evening," state director general of police Hare Krishna Deka said.

It is yet to be ascertained which militant group is behind the blast, he said.
