RSS top brass discusses vital issues with Advani
Sunday, September 7 2003 15:13 Hrs (IST)

New Delhi: The RSS (Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh) top brass led by its chief K S Sudarshan met Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani at his residence in New Delhi this morning (Sep 7).

Topical issues including Ram temple movement in the wake of Mulayam Singh Yadav taking over as Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, increased co-ordination among various Sangh Parivar outfits ahead of the crucial Assembly elections, stepped up terrorist activities in Jammu and Kashmir and the forthcoming WTO summit at Cancun are understood to have figured during the hour-long meeting, RSS sources said.

Besides Sudarshan, RSS general secretary Mohan Bhagwat, and joint general secretaries H V Seshadri and Madan Das Devi were also present.

However, the RSS headquarters maintained that it was a courtesy meeting and its leaders had gone to bless Advani's son Jayant ahead of his wedding later this month.

Some of the senior RSS leaders are not likely to be present at the wedding due to programmes scheduled earlier, the headquarters said.
