Train derails in TN; no casualties reported

Madurai: A second class coach of the Quilon-Rajapalayam Passenger train derailed at the Pambanshandi station on September 7 night with no reports of any casualty, railway officials said on September 8.

The derailment took place at about 22:20 hrs. The traffic in the section was restored at 02:45 hrs, the sources said.

The passengers of the derailed train were transported in vans to Sankarankovil and Rajapalayam.

The Rajapalayam-Quilon train was rescheduled to 02:45 hrs.
