Supporters of Ansari, Farooq storm Hurriyat office
Monday, September 8 2003 13:05 Hrs (IST)

Srinagar: In a precursor of events to come, supporters of Hurriyat Conference chairman Maulana Mohammad Abbas Ansari and Mirwaiz Umar Farooq on September 8 stormed the office of the amalgam's headquarters at Rajbagh in Srinagar.

The Hurriyat Conference had split vertically on September 7 after 13 members of the general council decided to oust Ansari and suspend his executive, "a move described as unconstitutional and illegal" by the Hurriyat chairman.
