Bangalore: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president M Venkaiah Naidu on September 10 gave an outline
to the party on the organisational front and categorised the Congress ruled or supported states
as "agitation states".
In his address to the party Central office-bearers meeting, Naidu listed six categories of states –
"operation 2003 states", "agitation states", "reconstruction states", "consolidate states", "new upsurge
states" and "good governance states".
Under the "agitation states", he named Karnataka, Maharashtra, Bihar, Kerala and West Bengal, which
were not going to the polls immediately, but where the Congress or its supported government's "misrule
is generating intense and popular anger".
"Operation 2003 states" were the states that go to polls in 2003. "Capture power in Madhya Pradesh,
Rajasthan, Chattisgarh and Delhi" was the message given by Naidu.
"Our immediate objective is to succeed in Operation 2003 – that is to unseat the Congress from power
and a big win for the BJP," he said.
In Uttar Pradesh, which he described as a "politically and electorally crucial state", he said the party
would have to use the new political developments for reconstructing the organisation at all levels and
regain mass support.
