Kathmandu: Barely two days after a series of explosions in Kathmandu, two bombs exploded on
September 10 in the Nepalese capital, even as five people were killed by the Maoists in Chitawan district.
The first bomb went off in the toilet of the Department of Information office at Tilaganga, near Tribhuvan
International Airport, at 09:00 hours (IST), police sources said.
The explosion shattered window-panes of the building and a woman sitting in a nearby canteen was
slightly injured by the shards from the broken panes.
Shortly afterwards, there was another explosion near a police post at Kalanki on the outskirts of
Kathmandu. However, no one was injured in the blast.
Police recovered two unexploded bombs from the site, which were later defused.
Three bombs, other explosives and Maoist documents were also recovered from Bhaktapur district
adjoining Kathmandu.
The police suspect that the Maoists were behind the blasts. The September 10 explosion comes after a
series of blasts in Kathmandu on September 8 which left a schoolboy dead and 16 others
injured.
Meanwhile, a group of 70 armed rebels launched an attack on a police post in Chitawan district on
September 9, killing three policemen, state-run 'The Rising Nepal' reported.
Two children who were watching a football match nearby were also killed in the shootout, they
said.
