PM speaks to Sharon, condemns Jerusalem attacks
Wednesday, September 10 2003 14:34 Hrs (IST)

New Delhi: Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee spoke to his Israeli counterpart Ariel Sharon on September 10 morning and condemned the terror attacks in Tel Aviv that left 14 people dead.

Vajpayee told him, "We have repeatedly said we condemn terrorism in all its forms. Violence will not solve problems confronting West Asia," official sources said.

Sharon is returning home on September 10 evening cutting short his visit to India following the twin bombings in Jerusalem.

Vajpayee said he was sorry that Sharon was returning in these sad circumstances and added "our hearts go out to families of the victims of terrorists".

He mentioned that though the visit was short, it would contribute greatly to the friendship and co- operation between the two countries.

He said he looked forward to growing interaction between them in the coming months and years.
