Thursday, September 11 2003 15:06 Hrs (IST)

Mumbai: A minute of silence was observed on September 11 at the American Centre in Mumbai in memory of those who perished in the September 11 terrorist attack on the World Trade Centre in the United States.

"We all maintained a moment of silence, thinking of those who had perished in the attack and praying for the safety and well-being of all the victims, relatives, friends and family," sources at the American Centre said.

A tight security continued to be maintained at the Centre with a strict vigil being kept over those visiting the Centre.
