Hyderabad: Facing the political heat, the ruling Telugu Desam Party (TDP) in Andhra Pradesh on
September 11 expelled from the party its scam-tainted legislator and former minister C Krishna Yadav
who was arrested over the week-end in connection with the multi-crore fake stamp paper racket.
The decision to expel Yadav, a two-time MLA representing Himayatnagar constituency in the city, was
taken at a meeting of the party's politburo chaired by the party supremo and Chief Minister N
Chandrababu Naidu.
"In view of clear evidence about his involvement in the racket, the party has decided to expel him," the
TDP spokesman and MP U Venkateshwarulu told reporters after the politburo meeting.
Earlier, the party had suspended Yadav on September 7, a day after a special police team from
Maharashtra arrested him based on a "clinching evidence" about his role in the multi-crore
scam.
During a raid on the house of Abdul Kareem Telgi, the kingpin of the racket, the Maharashtra police had
found an audio-cassette believed to be containing the conversation that Yadav had with the
scamster.
Yadav is now in police custody in Pune.
