Parray's killing: 2 ultra outfits claim responsibility

Srinagar: Two militant outfits – al-Nasiree and Kashmir Freedom Force – on September 13 claimed
responsibility for the killing of the father of counter-insurgency, Mohammad Yousuf Parray alias Kuka
Parray, who was buried in the courtyard of his house at Hajan.
The two outfits in calls to a local journalist separately claimed responsibility for the attack, in which two
associates of Parray were also killed and five others injured.
An estimated 600 people attended the funeral of Parray, who shot into limelight in 1995 when he
abjured the path of violence and formed a counter-insurgent group called Ikhwan.
Parray, who was on the hit list of militants ever since he joined mainstream was killed by them while he
was on way to a local cricket stadium to witness final of a tournament organised by Army posted in the
area.
