'India indulging in anti-Pak activities from Afghan'
Saturday, September 13 2003 20:41 Hrs (IST)
Islamabad: Charging that Indian missions in Afghanistan were indulging in anti-Pakistan activities,
Islamabad on September 13 said it has taken up the matter with India and Afghanistan.
"We have ample proof of indulgence of Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) in establishing terrorist
camps in Afghanistan through Indian Consulates in Kandahar, Herat and Jalalabad, which are involved
in terrorist activities in Pakistan," Pakistan's Interior Minister Faisal Saleh Hayat told reporters.
"We have taken up the matter with Afghan Administration, and also cautioned the Indian government on
this," he said.
Reacting to the reported statement of al-Qaida leaders asking Pakistanis to rise against President
Pervez Musharraf, he said, "In fact, the policies of the President, which he adopted one and a half year
ago to curb terrorism, have paid rich dividend to Pakistan."
Owing to these policies, Pakistan has gained more respect and dignity in region and world over, he said,
adding these types of statements of al-Qaida leaders can't pose any threat to Pakistani leadership.
On anti-Taleban and al-Qaida operations, he said, "Operations are underway in tribal areas to hunt high
profile leaders of al-Qaida and due to our efforts time is running out for them."
