New Delhi: As part of the electoral campaign exercise ahead of the coming Assembly elections in five
states, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president M Venkaiah Naidu on September 15 held consultations
with the party's ministers in the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government.
Naidu, who has been holding regular meetings with party cadres to mobilise the rank and file for the
Assembly elections, has undertaken this exercise as part of its move to involve all sections of the party
including those in the government, party sources said.
He reviewed the various developmental works undertaken by the concerned ministries, especially in
Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh and Delhi where Assembly elections are slated for later in
2003, the sources said.
"This exercise is part of the Operation 2003 and a run-up to Mission 2004 and we want to ensure that
no stone is left unturned in our efforts to achieve our goal," they said.
The meeting with BJP ministers comes soon after a meeting between BJP and Rashtriya Swayamsevak
Sangh (RSS) functionaries to review the poll preparation and to smoothen out differences, the sources
said.
