Mumbai: The person who was shot dead along with prime accused Nasir in the twin blasts in Mumbai has been identified as Hasan, a relative of the terrorist, police said on September 15.

"The body was identified by Nasir's sister, who resides at Ghatkopar in Mumbai," according to crime branch sources.

"However, we have yet to establish the background of Hasan. Investigations are on to trace Hasan's history and whether he had any links with Lashkar-e-Toiba," the sources added.

Efforts were also on to collect more details about Nasir and his associate.

Nasir, a prime accused in the August 25 twin blast case, was shot down along with Hasan in an encounter with police at Matunga on September 13 night.
