Kuka Parray's close lieutenant shot dead

Srinagar: Less than a week after the gunning down of pioneer of counter-insurgency Kuka Parray,
militants shot dead his close lieutenant Abdul Rashid Khan alias Babar in the wee hours of September
15 in Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir.
Elsewhere in the state, four people, including a Village Defence Committee (VDC) member were killed, a
VDC member was abducted and four ultras were apprehended since September 14 evening.
Babar, a top counter-insurgent activist of Kuka Parray's Ikhwan outfit, was gunned down by militants at
Janglat Mandi, an official spokesman said.
He said the militants took away the AK rifle of Babar, a resident of Chaklipora-Chittergul in Anantnag.
Militants killed VDC member Yog Raj and abducted another in Doda district September 14 night, the
spokesman said.
He said a militant was killed in an encounter with security forces at Chanj-Loo top at Banihal in Doda
district.
