SC issues notice to M'rashtra over admission quota

New Delhi: The Supreme Court on September 15 issued notice to the Maharashtra government on the ongoing controversy over quota pertaining to admissions in private unaided medical and engineering colleges in the state and ordered status quo in the admission process.

A Bench comprising Justice S Rajendra Babu and G P Mathur asked the state of Maharashtra to file its reply within two weeks and directed listing of the petitions by unaided professional colleges immediately thereafter.
