Tuesday, September 16 2003 13:51 Hrs (IST)

New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on September 16 said the Supreme Court order will not affect disinvestment of other public sector undertakings, as those were not set up by an Act of Parliament.

BJP president M Venkaiah Naidu said the highest court's views have to be respected and the government would take appropriate measures.

P N Vijay, the party's economic cell convenor, said other PSUs, which were disinvested were not set up by an Act of Parliament and the divestment plans there would not suffer.
