Feel for nation & relish it's success: BJP to Sonia
Wednesday, September 17 2003 21:05 Hrs (IST)
New Delhi: BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) on September 17 hit out at Congress President Sonia Gandhi
asking her to learn "Rashtra Dharma" comprising feeling of national honour and security instead of
making "irresponsible statements" at party rally and lecturing on "Raj Dharma".
"The Congress President should realise that such statements by her only provides oxygen to terrorists
and she should refrain using the issue of national security and terrorism in this manner as a convenient
tool of politics," party spokesman Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi told reporters in New Delhi.
He said the Congress on both issues of policy and leadership "is in a state of confusion" and the
accusation of double speak by that party on BJP "applies for the Congress party itself."
"Those who view the Kargil success with narrow economic angle cannot understand the Indian security
concern and relate with the international opinion which has enhanced India's prestige," Naqvi said.
Quoting figures, he said it was because of NDA (National Democratic Alliance) government's counter
terrorism policies and the commitment to root out terrorism from the country that there had been
success on many fronts.
He said, "to understand the success of India's foreign policy, the Congress needs to have nationalistic
vision and understanding".
"Those who have no feeling for the national security and India's honour cannot relish success of the
country," Naqvi said.
