New Delhi: The Finance Ministry has decided to set up special counters for filing of income tax returns by salaried class and pensioners to speed up the collection by the last date of September 30.

The special counters will be opened at Mayur Bhavan and Pragati Maidan from September 23-30, an official release said.

The returns can be filed in Form-2D, 2E, ITS-3 (Saral and New Saral) format.

"In order to avoid last minute rush and inconvenience, the assesses are advised to file their income tax returns well in time with their respective assessing officers on any working day during the office hours," the release said.
