New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president M Venkaiah Naidu on September 19 spoke to Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee, who is on a foreign visit, on the upcoming order by the Special Court in Rae Bareilly on the framing of charges against the accused in the Babri Masjid demolition.

Naidu talked to the Prime Minister soon after a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani, Law Minister Arun Jaitley and party general secretary Pramod Mahajan who took stock of the situation, party sources said.

He is understood to have discussed the fallout of an adverse verdict in the case.

Advani and Human Resource Development Minister Murli Manohar Joshi are among the accused in the Babri Masjid demolition case, in which the Rae Bareilly court is expected to give its order on the framing of charges.

The morning meeting was brief soon after work came from Rae Bareilly that the judge might pronounce his verdict only at around 3.00 pm (IST). The leaders are expected to meet in the afternoon, party sources said.
