New Delhi: In yet another suicide by security personnel, a National Security Guard (NSG) commando on
September 19 ended his life by shooting himself with his service weapon.
Twenty six-year-old Dharmendra Rawat, on duty at the NSG camp near Palam, committed suicide at
around 5.50 am (IST).
NSG director general R S Mooshahary ruled out "professional stress" as the reason behind the suicide
by Rawat, who hailed from Pauri Garhwal.
"I am inclined to rule out professional stress as the reason. Many a time people have their individual
problems not known to everyone," he said.
Mooshahary said the commando could be suffering from "personal stress".
"Rawat got married a few months back, so there is every possibility that he might have personal reasons
to take this extreme step," he said.
This is the third suicide by security personnel in as many days. On September 17, a Central Industrial
Security Force (CISF) constable had shot himself dead in Delhi. A day after, a 40-year-old member of
the force, posted at the airport in Varanasi committed suicide while on duty apparently due to some
family problem.
