Veerendrakumar succeeds Chhajlani as new INS chief

Bangalore: M P Veerendrakumar, Chairman and Managing Director of the 'Mathrubhumi' newspaper group, was on September 18 elected President of the Indian Newspaper Society (INS) for 2003-2004 at its 64th Annual General Meeting.

Veerendrakumar, who is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Press Trust of India (PTI), succeeds Abhay Chhajlani, 'Nai Dunia', Indore.

Pradeep Guha ('Times' Group- Filmfare) is the new Deputy President, Hormusji N Cama ('Bombay Samachar' weekly) the Vice-President and Vishwa Bandhu Gupta ('Daily Tej') the Honorary Treasurer, an INS statement said.
