Mumbai: After Pakistan and Dubai, Mumbai police now believe that neighbouring Bangladesh is also being "used" as a springboard to train militants.

"We have reasons to believe that Bangladesh is being used for training militants," a senior police official said on September 19.

"The training goes on a in large scale camps akin to that being run in another neighbour (Pakistan)," he said adding, "Bangladesh is also being used as a transit route for Pakistan."

However, the official denied that Nasir, a prime accused in August 25 twin blast, who was recently killed in an encounter, had received training in Bangladesh.

The use of insurgents in North East India to help the militants a safe passage also appeared to be a remote possibility, he added.
