G-24 countries condemn terrorism in India, Palestine
Saturday, September 20 2003 20:18 Hrs (IST)
Dubai: G-24 countries on September 20 condemned the terrorism unleashed on India and Palestine and
said it was necessary to go into the root cause of the problem to tackle the menace.
"In India and everywhere in the world any action of killing of innocent people is something has should be
denounced," the chairman of ministers of G-24, the Lebanese Finance Minister Fouad Siniora told
reporters while releasing the communique on Global Economic Prospects of the group.
Siniora, however, said that Israel was not implementing the position taken by the international community
and the United Nations to solve the Palestinian problem.
The G-24 also expressed concern over the $ 300 billion subsidy bill of the developed countries, which it
said was rendering the products of developing countries uncompetitive and making it difficult to enter
the market of industrialised countries.
In reply to a question on cross-border terrorism wrought on India by Pakistan, Siniora said, "I think what I
have mentioned about terrorism has been very clear in terms of the position of leaders in Arab world
and other countries and the whole world renounces terrorism."
