Solapur: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on September 20 said the Rai Bareilly special court order to frame charges against Human Resource Development Minister Murli Manohar Joshi and six others in Babri Masjid demolition case would be challenged in high court.

"The decision of Rai Bareilly special court will be challenged in the high court and we are confident that only truth will win finally," BJP president Venkaiah Naidu told reporters.

The order will not have any impact on the unity or stability of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government in the Centre, Naidu who is in Solapur for campaigning for BJP candidate Pratapsingh Mohite-Patil for the September 26 Lok Sabha bypoll, said.

"The allegations against the dropping the name of Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani is baseless. The fact is that CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation) is not working under his Home Ministry," Naidu said.

He said the 10-year-old case were filed by the then Congress government and was of political nature and the Lucknow Bench of Allahabad High Court had already denied permission to attach conspiracy angle to this case and "we will fight the case on a political level", Naidu said.

He ridiculed Congress leaders talking about ethics and asked, "Why were they silent when former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi quashed Allahabad High Court order, Rajiv Gandhi refused to quit after Bofors case and P V Narasimha Rao neglected charges of accepting bribe from the stock broker Harshad Mehta?"
