Navy to take over reins of Integrated Defence Staff

New Delhi: The Navy will take over the reins of the newly set up Integrated Defence Staff with Vice Admiral Raman Puri being designated its Chief in place of Lt Gen Pankaj Joshi.

In other major appointments, Vice Admiral Arun Prakash, currently Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Western Naval Command, has been made new Vice Chief of Naval Staff to replace Vice Admiral Joshn de Silva, who retired on September 30, Defence Ministry announced on September 20.

Vice Admiral O P Bansal, currently Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the country's only tri-service command at Andaman, has been appointed Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Naval Command.

Vice Admiral Madanjeet Singh has been shifted from the Southern Naval Command and will take over as the new Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Western Naval Command.
