Three persons killed, 28 injured in Rajouri blast

Jammu: Militants on September 21 triggered a blast in a crowded shop killing three people on-the-spot and injuring 28 others, seven of them seriously, in Rajouri town of Jammu and Kashmir.

Police sources said an improvised explosive device planted by militants exploded in a shoe shop near a bus stand around 13:00 hours killing three people.

The injured were rushed to hospital and seven critically wounded among them were airlifted to Jammu for specialised treatment.

The shop was extensively damaged in the blast, which also led to cracks in nearby structures, the sources said.

Police and security personnel rushed to the spot and laid a cordon around the blast site.

The dead have been identified as Vinod Kumar, Kaushal Kumar and Datta, they said.
