Rajasthan Governor N C Jain passes away

Jaipur: Rajasthan Governor N C Jain died in the wee hours of September 22 following a massive heart attack.

Seventy-five-year-old Jain, a former Advocate General of Madhya Pradesh, was brought to Sawai Man Singh Hospital around midnight on September 21 where doctors declared him dead at 02:07 hours (IST).

Jain leaves behind wife, a son and three daughters.

Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot was present at the hospital where Jain, who assumed the office of Governor on May 14 this year, breathed his last.

Expressing shock at the demise, Gehlot said that Jain had an amicable nature and was always concerned for welfare of the people of Rajasthan.

State Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief Vasundhara Raje also expressed grief and said Jain was an able administrator who cherished Democratic values.

The state government has declared a holiday in its offices and teaching institutions on September 22 and seven days mourning as a mark of respect to the departed soul.
