Five ultras killed in three encounters in J&K

Srinagar: Five militants, including three ultras of Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) outfit, were
killed in three separate encounters with Army in Kashmir valley on September 22, a defence spokesman
said.
Three LeT militants were killed in an ambush by the troops at Khori Gali in Bandipora area of Baramulla
district on September 22 afternoon, he said.
Three AK assault rifles, six magazines, 112 rounds, seven rifle grenades, a wireless set and three
pouches were recovered from the slain militants, the spokesman said.
A local militant of Harka-ul-Jihad-e-Islami, Mohammad Omar Mir alias Rashid, was killed in an encounter
with Army at Rang-e-Behak in Anantnag district, he said.
Troops killed a Hizbul Mujahideen militant, Abdul Latief Dar, in a gunfight during search operations at
Churmujru Chak Danesh in Beerwah area of Badgam on September 22. One AK rifle, three magazines
and 84 rounds were recovered from him, he said.
The spokesman identified the four Pakistani militants belonging to Jaish-e-Mohammad outfit, killed in an
encounter at Gulgam-Cherwari jungles in Kupwara district on September 21 were identified as Ali
Mohammad Tariq of Bhawalpora, Raja Abdul Rehman of Kotli, Mohammad Ayoub of Karnal-Gujarat and
Akhter Hussain of Mansawa Kotli.
