Form lobby group to nail Pak lies: PM to NRIs
Monday, September 22 2003 13:59 Hrs (IST)

New York: Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee on September 22 suggested to the Indian community in the US to set up an action group that would function as an effective lobby group to project India's position on Pakistan-sponsored terrorism in Kashmir.

The "action group" can also be helpful in putting in proper perspective "negative and wrong" reports based on "half-truths" about India, he said addressing the Indian community.

Vajpayee observed that "action groups' of many countries were active in US and wondered why the Indian diaspora can't have such a grouping.

An Indian action group should be active in America to put across the correct picture about the Pakistan- sponsored terrorism in Kashmir, he said.

"Most of the reports published here are sent by foreign correspondents who many a time do not have full information about facts... since you are aware of the reality about India, you can put the facts in proper perspective," the Prime Minister said.
