Lucknow: The Lucknow Bench of the Allahabad High Court, hearing Ram Janambhoomi-Babri Masjid title suits, on September 23 directed the Uttar Pradesh government to make necessary arrangements in the court for screening of the video cassettes prepared by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) regarding the excavation work at the acquired land in Ayodhya.

The special/full Division Bench, comprising Justice S R Alam, Justice Bhanwar Singh and Justice Khemkaran, directed to hold the screening of the cassettes on September 27, 29 and October 1.

The court passed the order on the petitions filed by the contesting parties, who prayed that the video cassettes prepared during the excavation may be permitted to be viewed for the purpose of filing objections.

The court also directed the ASI to take these cassettes from the office of the court and get them converted into compact discs and file five CDs in the court along with the original video cassettes.
