Wednesday, September 24 2003 14:18 Hrs (IST)

Ahmedabad: As Gujarat observes the first anniversary of Akshardham temple attack, the city Crime Branch on September 24 claimed to have solved the case on the basis of "documentary evidence available with them and on the precise information revealed during the interrogation of Lashkar-e-Toiba terrorist Chand Khan".

"The temple attack was a joint operation conducted by several modules of Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Toiba, having their network from Riyadh in Saudi Arabia to Bareily in Uttar Pradesh, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad and other cities," Joint Commissioner of Police P P Pandey told reporters.

Two heavily-armed terrorists had stormed the temple in Gandhinagar on September 24 last year, killing 33 people.
