Lucknow: The Allahabad High Court, hearing the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid title suit, on September 25, allowed all parties in the case to visit the excavated site along with their experts, counsels, nominees and photographers.

On an application filed by the Sunni Central Waqf Board, the Lucknow Bench of the Court allowed the concerned parties, to visit the excavated site and go inside the trenches for the purpose of study, observation and stratification and to take photographs between 10 am and 5 pm on September 27, 28 and 29.

The three-member Special Bench, comprising Justice S R Alam, Justice Bhawar Singh and Justice Khemkaran, directed that during the inspection by the parties, the two observers, two archaeologists deputed by the Arcaheological Survey of India (ASI) and the authorised persons or his nominated officer shall remain present.

The authorised person, in consultation with the chief engineer, public works department (PWD) shall ensure and take all necessary steps for the security and safety of the excavated site, the Court said.

The application was moved by Sunni Central Waqf Board seeking the Court's permission to visit the excavated site for necessary study to file objections.
