Jamshedpur: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh said his government would not interfere in the
Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) investigations in the poetess Madhumita Shukla murder case.
"The CBI is investigating it. We will not interfere in the due process of law," Singh told reporters after
attending a party rally on the eve of Samajwadi Party's National Executive Committee
meeting.
"The CBI inquiry was started under the erstwhile Mayawati government and we have nothing to do with
the case. Amar Mani Tripathi, a minister in the previous government, had joined the SP after the Central
agency began its probe," he said.
Asked about the fate of Tripathi now, the Chief Minister reiterated, "The issue is being investigated by
the CBI and we will not get involved in the case."
