Pak still promoting terrorism: PM tells Bush
Thursday, September 25 2003 13:21 Hrs (IST)

New York: Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee conveyed to US President George W Bush India's serious concerns over continuing cross-border terrorism by Pakistan as the American leader appreciated his peace initiative to normalise ties with Islamabad.

Vajpayee, who met Bush over an hour-long luncheon meeting hosted by the American President at Waldorf Astoria Hotel in the second interaction in four months, apprised him of the confidence-building measures taken by India in its relations with Pakistan.

Official sources said the discussions were "very frank, cordial and held in a good spirit", covering a range of international and bilateral issues including Afghanistan, Iraq, China, South Asia, Iran and the Middle East.
