United Nations: India and Russia on September 25 agreed that a new UN resolution on Iraq must reflect
international consensus as also the will of Iraqi people.
This was stated to the media by Russian President Vladimir Putin after an half-an-hour meeting with
Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee at the UN headquarters.
Iraq was among a range of international issues that came up for discussion with Vajpayee, Putin
said.
The meeting between the two leaders took place shortly after Vajpayee's address to the UN General
Assembly.
The Russian President said he is looking forward to Vajpayee's visit to Moscow where they will have in-
depth discussions on bilateral, international, military and other issues.
