Decision on resignation after talks with PM: Joshi
Friday, September 26 2003 12:20 Hrs (IST)

Bangalore: Human Resource Development Minister Murli Manohar Joshi indicated on September 26 that he has an open mind on the resignation issue as he did not rule out the possibility of reviewing his decision to quit after discussing the matter with Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee.

Asked by reporters if he would reconsider his decision if the Prime Minister wants, Joshi replied, "Let the Prime Minister come back (Vajpayee is currently in New York) and after discussing with him, we will take a decision."

Queried if he is "positive about that", he reiterated, "I am saying that, after a discussion with Prime Minister, we will take a decision."

Asked if he is leaving his decision to the Prime Minister, Joshi, who is on a private visit to Bangalore, said, "I tendered my resignation to the Prime Minister."

Joshi tendered his resignation from the post of Human Resources Development Minister last week following a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court's order to frame charges against him in the Babri Masjid demolition conspiracy case.
