Over two quintals of explosives seized in UP

Lucknow: Over two quintals of explosives have been seized at a railway station in Uttar Pradesh, a Home Department spokesman said on September 27.

The explosives, kept in five bags, were seized on September 26 at Orai railway station when it was being booked for Lucknow, he said.

The person who had brought explosives for booking managed to escape, the spokesman said.

While one bag contained detonators and wires, four other bags contained some other material, which has been sent to forensic science lab, Agra for testing he said, adding investigations were on in this connection.
