5 Hizbul militants killed, hideout busted in JK

Srinagar: Five Hizbul Mujahideen militants were killed and their hideouts busted in two separate
encounters in Jammu and Kashmir, where another gunfight was on between ultras and security
personnel since September 26, official sources said.
Three Hizbul Mujahideen militants were killed in an encounter with security personnel who raided their
hideout in Watlipora-Tangmarg area of Baramulla on September 26 night.
The sources said another hideout of the militant outfit was busted in the dense Mahore forest belt of
Udhampur and two ultras were shot dead in an exchange of fire.
One security personnel was also injured in the encounter which began when security personnel, on a tip-
off, cordoned the area during search operation.
A number of arms and ammunition including an AK rifle, one Pika gun, 13 magazines, seven grenades,
one under-barrel grenade launcher and 392 rounds were recovered from the hideout, the sources
said.
Another gunfight broke out between militants and security forces in forest area of Gurez sector of
Baramulla district which was still continuing, they said.
Militants shot dead one Manzoor Ahmad Ganai at Tanchan-Beerwah in Budgam district on September
26 night, suspecting him to be a police informer and attacked a security patrol in Wagoora in Baramulla
injuring a personnel and a civilian.
