Army havaldar killed in Pak shelling along LoC

Jammu: An Army havildar was killed and two others were injured when Pakistani troops shelled forward
defence locations along the line of control (LoC) in Rajouri and Poonch districts of Jammu and Kashmir
early September 27.
Pakistani troops fired mortar shells in Romlidhara, Kalsian, Laam, Jangard, Chowki Chora, Krishnagati,
Balnoi and Bhawani areas in the districts targeting the locations, border fencing and civilians, official
sources said.
Army havaldar Suresh Kumar, member of a patrol party, was killed when two shells exploded close to
them, they said, adding Indian troops retaliated and heavy exchange of shelling was on when reports
last came in.
Border Security Force and Pakistani Rangers exchanged small arms firing along the international border
in R S Pura, Ramgarh and Samba areas of Jammu frontier, the sources said, and added no casualty
was reported.
