Bhopal: Congress on September 29 condemned Defence Minister George Fernandes' indirect threat of treason charge against party president Sonia Gandhi and accused him of having lost his mental balance.

In a statement, Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee spokesman Suresh Pachauri said despite being an accused in alleged irregularities in Defence purchases during Kargil war, Fernandes has made such threat. "It shows he has lost his mental balance", Pachauri said.
