Tripathi's police remand extended till October 5

Lucknow: Former Uttar Pradesh Minister Amar Mani Tripathi's police remand on September 30 was
extended till October 5 by a Special Court in Lucknow, which posted the hearing on his bail application
for October 6.
Tripathi, who was remanded to Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) custody on September 23 after his
arrest in poetess Madhumita Shukla murder case, was produced in the court of Special Judicial
Magistrate (CBI) R M Yadav on the expiry of his remand at 14:00 hours (IST) on September 30.
The CBI moved an application before the court seeking an extension of his police remand by five
days.
The magistrate allowed the application after hearing the CBI and the defence counsels.
Earlier in the day, the court fixed October 6 for hearing the bail application of Tripathi.
