CBI director Sharma elected Interpol vice president

New Delhi: Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) director P C Sharma was on October 2 elected vice-
president of Interpol General Assembly.
Sharma, the first Indian to become vice-president in the last three decades, defeated Salim Maliki of Iran
by 54 votes in the election held at Benidorm in Spain, CBI sources said.
Representing the Asian region, Sharma's term will be for three years, the sources added.
