Pak troops raid al-Qaida camps, 12 ultras killed

Angoor Adda (Pakistan): Twelve suspected al-Qaida operatives have been killed on October 2 in a gun battle with Pakistani troops during a raid on a camp in the tribal district of Wairistan bordering Afghanistan, according to official reports.

The reports stated that 10 more militants were captured including four al-Qaida and six Taleban suspects.

Foreign journalists were escorted to the site of the raid to show the bodies of four men described as foreign al-Qaida operatives.

Another eight suspected al-Qaida died in the clash, the reports quoted military officials as saying.
