Nothing special about Pak missile, says Fernandes
Friday, October 3 2003 15:35 Hrs (IST)

New Delhi: Terming test firing of 290 km-range surface-to-surface missile by Pakistan as "nothing special", Defence Minister George Fernandes on October 3, said the issue of whether the missile was indigenous or clandestinely procured has to be looked into.

Commenting on the test firing of Hataf-III 'Ghaznavi', he said "it has to be seen whether the missile is their own or provided by North Korea or China."

His remarks came as Islamabad announced the "successful" test firing of the missile capable of carrying conventional and nuclear warheads.

"There is nothing special about it," Fernandes told reporters.
