Friday, October 3 2003 19:57 Hrs (IST)

New Delhi: President A P J Abdul Kalam on October 3 greeted fellow countrymen on the occasion of Dussera, which is on October 4.

"The festival of Dussera symbolises the victory of truth over untruth and good over evil. Truth and goodness are important values that help in creating an enlightened human being. The festival of Dussera is indeed a beautiful occasion for all families in our country. Let righteousness fill the homes," he said in his message.

In a poem to mark the celebrations, Kalam said,

"Where there is righteousness in the heart There is beauty in the character Where there is beauty in the character, There is harmony in the home.

Where there is harmony in the home, There is harmony in the nation. Where there is order in the nation, There is peace in the world.
