Reservation for economically-backward classes

New Delhi: The Union Cabinet on October 3 decided to provide reservation for economically-backward classes and suitably amend the Constitution.

The Cabinet also decided to set up a Commission to study and recommend reservation for those belonging to backward classes and elicit the views of state governments and Union Territories, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj told reporters after the Cabinet meeting.
