FDA orders seizure of popular brand of chocolates
Saturday, October 4 2003 12:05 Hrs (IST)

Mumbai: Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) in Maharashtra has directed seizure of chocolates of a popular brand after it received complaints of presence of worms in the confectionary.

"We have asked officials to seize the product from across the state," FDA Commissioner Uttam Khobragade told media-persons in Mumbai on October 4.

The FDA swung into action after complaints of worms in the popular brand of chocolates were received from aggrieved consumers from suburban Andheri in north-west Mumbai.

FDA officials had recently ordered closure of a popular bottled water plant after ants were found in the 'mineral water'.
